Hello: We thought that we would inform you of what progress we have made in our project about Computer Orientation.
* Rachel has contacted OCCS through emails. They provided us with a FAQ for each of the 10 topics we plan to present in our Orientation.
* Candice has been trying to contact different universities that have some type of Computer Orientation program. She has emailed several of these universities and asked them about problems that they encounter dealing with our project.
* Tiffaney and Kat have been working on maintaining this Blog page. We have emailed several faculty members in the computer science and communications departments. We asked them to share our blog site with their students so that we can gain more information and opinions about our project.
* Tiffaney has sent out our blog address through instant messenger to other people in hopes of gaining more opinions and suggestions.
Stay tuned for more information!! :D

We need your input about the possibility of having a Computer Orientation Program at ODU.

If there was a free Computer Orientation Program offered would you want to take it? Why or why not?

What would you want to get out of the Program?

What pros and cons would there be in having this Program?

Thank you!

Problem: ODU students do not know the full advantages of using technologies at ODU.

Incoming ODU students, both freshmen and transfer students, are not given any knowledge of the different computer resources available. Upon entering ODU, these students are given various usernames and passwords to gain access to the university system. Students are not given any type of orientation of the different programs used in the university system. If an orientation program were established, incoming ODU students would be able to navigate on the university system with greater ease.

We ask that you please comment on this problem.
1. Are there any other problems that you feel our group should look into concerning this topic we have chosen?
2. Also, do you think there is any other solution that could better solve this problem?

Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
